La Muralla is named for an informal group of young producers from San Agustín, who sometimes join forces to create truly special microlots. This group of producers produce a blend of cherries of the Caturra, Castillo, Pink Bourbon, & Colombia variety. Castillo and Colombia, which are hybrid/resistant varieties, are blended together with Caturra to produce a beautiful, easy-drinking flavor profile. We’re told this season had a boom of Pink Bourbon and so far, we’re noticing it in the cup. The pink bourbon variety has been known for its florals & berry-like characteristics. This year’s harvest is fruity and complex, with deep, yet tempered notes of pomegranate and goldenberry. Our cup is full of body and has the irresistible toffee sweetness of brown butter.
